Little Acorns in a Nutshell.

“Little Acorns was born from our own search for something different- an unhurried childhood rooted in nature, connection and wellbeing. Emily’s Waldorf upbringing taught her the value of imagination, rhythm and holistic learning, while Antti’s childhood in the wilds of Lapland, Finland instilled a lifelong respect for nature, resilience and simplicity. Our passion has driven us to retrain from lawyer and air traffic controller respectively, to Forest School Leader and Holistic Educators. Inspired by our own Little Acorns, EllaRose and Aurora, we believe in muddy hands, curious minds and nurturing hearts- where wellbeing and holistic learning matter as much as academic achievement. Through hands-on, nature-based experiences, we create moments that become lifelong memories beyond the screen. As a social enterprise, we are proud to hold space for children and families across Ayrshire to grow, explore and belong. Together, great oaks from little acorns grow”.

Emily and Antti founded Little Acorns in 2017 through a passion to nurture through nature.

Where Little Acorns Grow to Might Oaks.

Set in an exceptional natural landscape, our outdoor adventures takes place in a truly inspiring location. Based at the former Scottish Agricultural College headquarters at Auchincruive- just two miles from Ayr town centre and beside the River Ayr- we work in partnership with several landowners including River Garden and Allanvale, utilising over 100 acres of wild and wonderful space. From our private Forest School site, complete with play gym, fire circle, vegetable garden, meadow, composting toilet and yurt, to hands-on experiences at the Little Acorns Farm with pygmy goats, chickens, ducks and honeybees, every day offers immersive, memorable learning in nature.
